Auxiliary Monthly Meeting Held Nov. 9

DUNKIRK — The Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Unit 62 Auxiliary monthly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at 211 Central Ave. Auxiliary members are encouraged to attend and new members are always welcome.

AOC To Hike

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will do a slow paced hike of three to four miles at Hearts Content on Sunday, Nov. 7. The group will meet at Musante St. in Warren at 1:30 p.m. or at the Hearts Content Recreation Area no later than 2 p.m. Bill Massa will lead the hike and can be reached at (814) 723-3568 with questions.

Hill & Dale Club Meeting

The Hill & Dale Garden Club meeting held its Oct. 27 meeting at the Wiltsie Community Church. Fall floral kits were delivered to patients at the Rouse. The Rouse residents expressed that they look forward to Garden Therapy being held in person. Officers were elected as well as a variety of committees. Election of officers was held. At the September meeting it was agreed to have 3 co-chairs to share the duties of President. Nominations were: Co-Chairs; Donna Chapman, Donna Lundmark and Marge Himber. 1st Vice, Cheryl Vanco; Treasurer Carol Eckert; Secretary Muriel Redick; Sunshine Linda Feather and Brandi Weidemann and Historian Linda Feather. All were approved and installation will be Dec. 8. Please send any club news clippings to Linda. The speaker was Louise Dyer, Master Gardener who gave a presentation on “The 3 Sisters” – a time honored method of Native Americans planting of corn, beans and squash.

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Hosting Dinner Nov. 13

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726 will be hosting a dinner on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 2-6 p.m., at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. The ladies will be serving a choice of several dinners: chicken cacciatore or baked chicken, chicken and biscuits or goulash, and includes dessert. The dinner is free for a veteran and spouse or significant other. For all others attending the cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under. The dinners may be eaten on site and take outs are available.

Fenton History Center Hosting 2nd Christmas Market Nov. 13

The Fenton History Center will host its second Fenton Christmas Market, a holiday craft show throughout its historic Victorian Mansion. On Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., local artisans will have a wide variety of hand-made and vintage Christmas items available for sale. Admission for the day is only $2.
