Hazeltine Library To Host Author Showcase

Meeting Monday

BUSTI – Monday marks the beginning of the Spring Author Showcase at the Hazeltine Public Library. Sally Ferguson will be the author speaking. Ferguson specializes in journaling. Notes on a calendar, photos and scraps of paper can all tell a story. Ferguson will look at ways to jump start the writing process and share tips and tools for journaling and creating memorable stories. The author series begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to anyone. Reservations are appreciated and can be made by contacting the library at 716-487-1281. The Hazeltine Library is located at 891 Busti Sugar Grove Road. There is off-street parking and the library and community building are handicapped accessible.

Ellicott To Hold Special Meeting

The Ellicott Town Board will hold a special board meeting on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Ellicott Town Board meeting room. The public is welcome to attend.

Levant Cemetery Association To Meet May 6

FALCONER – The Levant Cemetery Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 6, in Room 200 at Levant Wesleyan Church. All lot owners and anyone interested in maintaining the cemetery are welcome to attend.

Allen Cemetery To Hold Annual Meeting May 6

FALCONER – The Allen Cemetery will hold its annual meeting at 2:30 p.m. May 6 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 20 N. Phetteplace St., Falconer. All lot owners are welcome to attend. Those attending should use the Falconer Street entrance. old decorations must be cleared out before April 15 in the spring and October 15 in the fall. Officers are Karyn Okerlund, president, Rod Drake, vice president, Patricia Warner, secretary, Gayle Lyon, treasurer, and Jack Clark, superintendent of the grounds. Trustees are: Doris Williamson, Cindy Anderson, and Sandy Josephson. Refreshments will be served afterwards by Sandy Josephson, Nancy Graham and Gayle Lyon. The upcoming Memorial Day service will be held on Sunday, May 19, at 2:30 p.m. at the Allen Cemetery located on Willard Street Extension. The speaker is to be determined and more detailed information to follow.

Bocce Sign Ups Set For May 6

Catholic Bocce league sign ups will be held May 6 at 6 p.m. in the St. John’s church hall, 270 Newton Ave. Anyone interested in playing in a bocce league must attend this meeting.

Panama

Community Cleanup Day Is May 11

PANAMA – A community cleanup day is being organized at the Panama Methodist Church, Panama, from 9 to 11 a.m. May 11 with a rain date for May 18th. Volunteers will gather and be sent throughout the community streets and highways to pick up garbage and trash that has accumulated over the winter months. Light refreshments will be provided. This is also an opportunity for school students needing community service hours.
