Mobile Food Pantry Visits Ashville Today

ASHVILLE – The Feed More of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church today from 10 a.m. to noon and e to 5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, only proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required:Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti or is a Client of the Ashville Pantry. The food is no longer pre-boxed. Those receiving food should bring their own bags or boxes. Those getting food will need to walk around to the different tables to pick out what foods they want. Chautauqua Mall To Host Blood Drives

LAKEWOOD – The American Red Cross will host American Red Cross blood drives from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. April 25 and May 9 at the Chautauqua Mall, 318 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Sinclairville VFD To Hold Chicken BBQ April 28

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting its second chicken barbecue on April 28 starting at noon at the fire hall, 30 Main St., Sinclairville. There is plenty of parking available. A full dinner is $15 and includes a half-chicken, scalloped potatoes, roll, pickles, applesauce and cookie. Coffee and soda available with the meal. Chicken halves alone are available for $8 each.

CLCS Baseball Team To Hold Chicken BBQ

HARTFIELD – The Chautauqua Lake Central School varsity baseball team will hold its annual chicken barbecue Sunday, April 28, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department, 6078 Elmwood Road. Pre-sale tickets are $15 each and are available from any team member or by contacting assistant coach Mike Cummings at 716-640-3695. Cash or checks made payable to “Eagles Athletic Club” are accepted. Only 300 pre-sale tickets are available. Tickets on the day of the barbecue may not be available.

Virtual Book Club To Meet April 29

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library’s virtual book club will begin hosting hybrid meetings with participants invited to the library on Monday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m., for a discussion of Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann. Copies of the title are available at the library. For those unable to attend in person, the link to participate via Zoom is available by sending a request to director@sinclairvillelibrary.org.
