Poland Town Board To Hold Special Meeting

KENNEDY – The Poland Town Board will hold a special meeting relating to appointment of an elected position. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 29, at the Poland Town Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

To Hold Golf

Tournament

The Falconer Rotary Club will hold its annual four-person scramble golf tournament on Saturday, June 22, at Breezewood Golf Links in Falconer. The cost for the event is $85 per person with an early bird entry fee of $75 if the registration is received and paid by May 1. The registration and payment deadline for the event is June 5. Tournament fees include, 18 holes of golf, cash payout for the top teams, hot dogs at the turn and lunch to follow. There will be additional fees for skins games, giveaways and 50/50 drawings. This year, there will be a special opportunity to win a John Deere X730 Garden Pro Tractor provided by LandPro equipment as a special Hole In One contest. All donations and proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Falconer Rotary community projects such as upgrades to the Falconer park, the annual Falconer Santa Parade, Little League teams, Falconer After Prom Party and annual village spring cleanup. UMC To Host Luncheon May 1

WATTS FLATS – Watts Flats United Methodist Church, 866 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, will be having a luncheon on Wednesday, May 1, at noon. The cost will be a donation. Proceeds benefit community projects.

Town of Ellicott Starting Summer Hours May 1

Office hours for the town of Ellicott will be Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting May 1. Drop boxes are located outside the entrance to the town building if needed.

Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild Elects

Officers

At the Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild’s April meeting, the following officers were elected for 2024: president, Cynthia Oakes; vice president, Birgit Hanson; secretary, Dawn Russell; and treasurer, Janet Lindstrom. Jan Shoup was named the at-large board member. Also recognized were Lisa Corey, Facebook administrator, and Diane Crandall, newsletter and publicity, The guild will be having a quilt display again this year at the Busti Federated Church on Saturday only, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the Busti Apple Festival. The deadline for the $500 guild scholarship application submission is rapidly approaching. The deadline is May 1. Guidance counselors at southern Chautauqua and Warren Schools have the applications. The guild’s next meeting will be Wednesday, May 8, at 6:30 in the Busti Federated Church.
