Quilt Guild

Offering $500 Scholarship

The Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild annually offers a $500 scholarship to a student interested in sewing or who has previous experience with sewing and is continuing on to college in any field. Seniors in southern Chautauqua County and Warren County are eligible. Applications are available through their school guidance counselors. The application deadline is May 1. Mayville Senior Citizens To

Meet May 2

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet May 2 for a potluck lunch at the Mayville VFW. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass. A board meeting was held after this meeting.

Blood Drive

Set May 3 In South Dayton

SOUTH DAYTON — The community is invited to a Blood Drive on Friday, May 3, 2024, in the old gym at Pine Valley Jr./Sr. High School, 7827 Route 83, between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. This event is in collaboration with Community Blood Bank. Please email vmaltbie@pval.org to sign up for a time or just come on the day of the blood drive. Donors should fill out this online screening form on May 3: https://fourhearts.org/donor-quickpass/ Donors must be at least 17 years old or 16 with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds, have no tattoo or piercings in past 3 months, be in general good health, and eat before donating. Photo identification required.

Art Exhibit To Open May 3

STOCKTON – “Waterlogged,” an art show of ceramics and landscapes by Charlotte Mahaffy and Anna Reed will be available at the Mary E. Seymour Library, May 3-30. An opening reception will take place May 3 from 6-8 p.m. The library is located at 7344 N. Main St., Stockton.

South Dayton Rummage

Sale Returns After Hiatus

SOUTH DAYTON – After a nearly two-year hiatus, there will again be a rummage sale at the South Dayton Fire Activity Hall on May 3 and 4. Hours are Friday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A bag sale will begin May 4 at noon. There will be a bake sale both days. Proceeds will benefit the Wesley Community Church and South Dayton Food Pantry. For more information about volunteering or donating, call Jenny at 716-410-1737.

Cherry Creek Church To Hold Rummage Sale

CHERRY CREEK – A rummage sale will be held May 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, with a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cherry Creek Country Church, formerly the Cherry Creek United Methodist Church, 6813 Main St., Cherry Creek. No electronics and books are accepted. Donations are accepted at the church. For more information call 716-296-5609.
