Celebrate

Birthday Of Gov. Fenton’s Wife

The Fenton History Center will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of Elizabeth Scudder Fenton’s birthday, wife of Gov. Reuben Fenton, on Saturday at 2 p.m. The closing of the time capsule will also happen. The time capsule reflects the 60th anniversary of the Fenton Historical Society of Jamestown and is to be opened in 2063. The time capsule will not be buried, but will be placed in a display case inside of the museum. All are welcome to attend this free event. For more information call 716-664-6256.

Shred-It Event Scheduled For Saturday

WESTFIELD – The Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a Shred-It event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the hospital parking lot. The cost is $10 per container. A container is anything that can be handled. To participate, drive through the hospital parking lot. Someone will remove items from the car and the cost can be paid from the vehicle. All proceeds benefit ongoing auxiliary projects.

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board will meet at 9 a.m. Monday in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. County Planning Board To Review Projects

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Planning Board will hold its capital projects review meetings on May 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. and on May 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the legislative chambers room at the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Cemetery To Hold Business Meeting

CHANDLERS VALLEY – The Chandlers Valley Cemetery which is located on Brown Hill Road outside of Chandlers Valley, Pa., is holding a business meeting on Thursday, May 9, at 7 p.m. at the community center in Chandlers Valley. All families that have relatives or own lots in this cemetery are invited to attend this meeting.

Pre-Licensing Course

FREWSBURG – A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be offered at Frewsburg High School on Monday, May 20, from 5 to 10 p.m. The cost is $30. Pre-register by emailing rhair@frewsburgcsd.org – include a picture of the student’s permit – or by calling 716-569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, make sure to have the student’s permit on hand.
