Society To

Meet Wednesday

RANDOLPH – Carol Zieres of the Randolph Historical Society will share a video featuring Randolph resident William Hilliard during the historical society’s meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Randolph Municipal Building. During his military service, Cpl. Hillard earned the Purple Heart and two Bronze Star Medals with an Oak Leaf Cluster. He was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 dates, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Presidential Unit Citation. He is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. At age 21, Cpl. Hillard became a Vietnam War casualty on March 15, 1969, in Quang Ngai. He lies at rest in the Randolph Cemetery.

East Randolph Methodist

To Hold

Rummage Sale

EAST RANDOLPH – The East Randolph Methodist Church, 22 Church St., East Randolph, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday with a $1 bag sale. Donated items may be dropped off through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Myrtle Cemetery Association To Meet May 6

The Myrtle Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Monday May 6, at 7 p.m. in the Clarks Corners Community Church. All grave owners, board members, and other interested parties are urged to attend. Election of officers and several director positions will be held.

South Dayton Library To Hold Book Sale

SOUTH DAYTON – The South Dayton Village Library will hold a book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be children’s books, vintage, adult fiction and nonfiction, puzzles, games, vinyl records and some craft supplies.

Westfield

Planning Board To Meet

The Westfield Planning Board will be holding two additional work session meetings in May. The first is May 6 beginning at 4 p.m. and the other is May 20 at 4 p.m. These meetings are in addition to the planning board’s regular meeting scheduled for May 8 at 7:30 a.m. All meetings take place in the North Room of Eason Hall.

Hazeltine Library To Host Energy Efficiency

Workshop

BUSTI – The Hazeltine Library will host a presentation on energy sustainability at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, by Emily Edmunds, an energy sustainability educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension. As an educator she will provide information on weatherization programs, insulation, efficient heating and cooling systems as well as free or reduced cost energy assessment programs, installation services and low cost financing. Edmunds is part of the Regional Energy Hub established by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to connect residents to the clean energy economy. The presentation will be held in the Community Building at the Hazeltine Public Library, 891 Busti Sugar Grove Road. The presentation is free and open to the public.
