JHS PTSO to Hold Donation Drive for JHS Closet

The Jamestown High School PTSO is collecting for the JHS Closet, which provides students with items they may need. The donation drive will take place Monday, Nov. 8, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the JHS Pool Doors. Those donating should enter on Second Street and exit on Foote Avenue. The JHS PTSO is asking for donations of shampoo/conditioner, body wash/bar soap, deodorant, toothbrushes/toothpaste/floss/mouth wash, feminine products, new socks, new underwear, new or gently used and in good condition leggings/sweatpants/joggers, school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks and backpacks. Monetary donations can also be made. Checks to the Gotchu Fund will be accepted. The money will be used to help with educational opportunities such as AP exam costs, field trips, and educational camps for JHS students.

Take-Out Meals Thurs. Nov. 4

The Marvin Community House in Jamestown is offering take-out meals available for pick up between 3-4 p.m. Thursday that will include garden salad, homemade chili, fresh corn bread and cream cheese pumpkin roll. Reservations can be made by sending an email to marvinhouse@netsync.net or calling 488-6206. The cost is $18 for members.

Auxiliary Board Meeting Set

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4. The monthly auxiliary meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. The election of officers will take place. The program for the evening will be an informative talk by the Lakewood-Busti Police Department. All members are invited to attend. Greeters will be Jan DeVoe and Sally Gregory. Helpers are Coralyn Boehler and Nancy Rasmussen. Sally Hagg will be in charge of refreshments. Looking ahead, the annual Christmas dinner will take place on Monday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. Dinner choices are chicken parmesan, prime rib or shrimp alfredo. Reservations must be made by Dec. 3. Chautauqua County Land Bank Corp.

Montly Meeting Nov. 10

The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation will hold its monthly board meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10. The public is welcome to attend. The boardwill meet in person at the ERA offices on Third Street, Jamestown. A summary of the meeting will be available afterward. Monthly land bank board meetings are conducted to discuss business associated with the acquisition and potential sale of property by the Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation and other official business as required. Agendas will be provided at the meetings. Following the November business meeting, the board will convene in a work session to discuss matters pertaining to long-range planning and program management.
