School Board Monthly Meeting Held Mon. Nov. 8

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday in the middle-high school multipurpose room.

Slow Paced Hike In Warren PA

Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will take part in a slow-paced hike of 3-4 miles at Hearts Content. The group will meet at Musante Street in Warren, Pa., at 1:30 p.m. or at the Hearts Content Recreational Area no later than 2 p.m. Bill Massa will be the leader and can be reached at (814) 723-3568 for any questions.

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Restocked For Winter

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, is well stocked with warm winter clothing for men, women and children. There is a large selection of jackets, coats and boots in all sizes. The housewares department is very well stocked. The shop is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations are received Tuesday 9 a.m. to noon. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. Masks are required. Proceeds from sales are used for outreach in our local community.

Companions Guild Meet Wed. Nov. 17

FREDONIA — The Northern Chautauqua Quilting Companions guild will meet Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Harvest Chapel in Fredonia. The group will working on the T-shirt quilts and having a meeting. Members are asked to bring supplies of sewing machine and cord, cutting mat, rotary cutter, iron and small ironing board.

Meeting Held For Board Of Health

MAYVILLE — Members of the Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold their bimonthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in the HRC Building, B-14, basement level conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Anyone not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 must wear a mask and social distance while in the building. Fully vaccinated individuals are encouraged to wear masks while in the building.

Veteran’s Breakfast Nov. 11

The Jamestown Elks Lodge 263, 339 E. Fourth St., will hold its annual veteran’s breakfast from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11. The breakfast, as always, is complimentary to all veterans continuing a long tradition for the Jamestown Elks. The first free veteran’s breakfast was held at the lodge on Nov. 11, 1918, the day the Armistice was signed. For more information call the Elks lodge after 4 p.m. at 716-484-1751.
