Beach Glass Art Class Oct. 25

The Grape Discovery Center in Westfield will be hosting a beach glass art class on Monday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m. Each ticket includes everything needed to create a one-of-a-kind 4-by-6-inch piece of beach glass artwork, using tumbled glass, a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage and some light snacks. Carroll Historical Society Monthly Meeting Oct. 18

FREWSBURG ­– The Carroll Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in its facility behind the Carroll Town Hall. Discussion will be on the upcoming November pot luck dinner and elections. Also, Babrb Cessna will be showing a few items that have been donated throughout the year. Members are asked to attend, and meeting and programs are opened to the public.

Drive Through Chicken BBQ

DUNKIRK ­ The Northern Chautauqua Catholic School will hold a drive-through Weidner’s chicken barbecue at Holy Trinity Church, 1032 Central Ave., Dunkirk, on Sunday from noon-3 p.m. The menu is grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased by calling 366-0630. All proceeds support NCCS.

Allegheny Outdoor Club Bike Ride

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes on Tuesday from Station 61 in Youngsville to Garland, a route of about 15 miles. Participants are asked to meet at the restaurant and use the parking lot behind the building. Bill Ferry is leading the ride and can be contacted with questions at (814) 758-1908.

Motorcycle Crash Results In Injury

KENNEDY — A 67-year-old Lakewood woman was injured in a motorcycle crash Wednesday shortly after 3 p.m. on Route 394 in the town of Poland. It was learned that the woman was traveling west on Route 394 when a deer ran into the road and struck her motorcycle. The woman was transported by helicopter to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., for treatment of minor injuries. No charges were pending, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
