Falconer Village Board To Meet June 8

FALCONER – The Falconer Village Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, JUne 8, in the Fire Exempts Hall, 3 Coleson Drive. The public is welcome to attend.

Allegheny Outdoor Club to kayak Sunday

On Sunday, June 7, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak on the Conewango Creek. Those attending should meet at the magistrate’s office in front of Tractor Supply in Warren at 1:30 p.m. The group will paddle upstream from the Akeley launch for an hour before returning. Tom Patterson is in charge of this activity.

Cassadaga Legion Post 1280 Auxiliary To Meet June 9

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 will host meet Tuesday, June 9, to install its 2026-27 officers elected during the auxiliary’s most recent meeting. Officers are Ranee Kaus, president; Charyle Tyler, first vice president; Carol Baker, secretary, Sue DeGolier, treasurer; Paula Pattison, chaplain; and Lynn Moeller, sergeant-at-arms. Unit 1280 will be holding the June County Auxiliary meeting, Thursday, June 11. It will be a dessert meeting. Members present voted to donate to the Blue Star Mothers. Unit 1280 continues to collect stamps, and “can tabs” for troop support.

One Act Playwriting Competition Is June 10-13

WESTFIELD – The Juice Box One Act Playwriting Competition will be held June 10-13. The plays in competition were selected from 200 plays submitted. Five comedies will be presented on June 10 and again on June 12. Five dramas will be presented on June 11 and again on June 13.Those 10 plays will be adjudicated by a committee of judges and awards will be handed out on Sunday, June 14. Begun in 2023, the festival is part of a larger entity called The Lakeshore Center For The Arts housed inside the First Presbyterian Church, across from the Patterson Library. Tickets are available. Christian Women’s Group To Meet June 9

RUSSELL – The Jamestown-Warren Christian Women Village Missions Country Partners will meet Tuesday, June 9, at noon at Praise Fellowship Church, Route 62, Russell. The guest will be the Sugar Grove Outpost ministry presenting its Fashion Runway Show, and music is by Vi Birchard of Warren. Those attending should bring a $1 brown bag item for a gift exchange. Village Missions trains pastors and assigns them to rural American churches in danger of failing due to lack of a pastor, or helps with setting up a new church in remote villages where none is existent.
