BEMUS POINT — Instructor Holly Lemke and students in the Small Animal Science program at the LoGuidice Educational Center recently visited the National Equine Institute of Growth through Healing (N.E.I.G.H.) on Maple Grove Road in Bemus Point for a hands-on learning experience focused on equine-assisted therapy.

During the visit, Career & Technical Education students from Erie 2-Chautauqua Cattaraugus BOCES learned about the positive impact horses can have in therapeutic settings while participating in a variety of activities, including feeding, weighing, grooming, and handling.

The experience provided students with valuable insight into animal care and the role equine-assisted therapy can play in supporting overall health and wellness.

Dawn and Taylor Samuelson led the experience, sharing their knowledge and giving students a firsthand look at equine-assisted therapy and animal care.

Starting at $3.50/week.
