Mary L. Card, 100, of Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026. She was born in Jamestown on November 3, 1925, to the late Henri and Magdelena DeKeyser VanDamme.
Holding positions at various local businesses, Mary retired from Jamestown Stamp Company and enjoyed years of babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. An avid reader, she belonged to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and to the Celoron Legion.
Mary’s memory will be carried on through her children, Kitty (Louise) (Thomas) Russo and Charles (Rebecca) Card; her daughter-in-law, Janet Card; her grandchildren, Jared (Eryn) Card, Ryan (Penny) Card, Donna Dame, Rich Brunecz, Steven (Kathy Bullock) Dame, Norm (Sarah McKinstry) Dame, Charles Card, Jr., Paul Card, and Crystal Card; as well as many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mary cherished endless visits from her grandchildren and their families.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Clyde Card, and by her granddaughter, Lori Brunecz.
The funeral for Mary will be at 1:30pm Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Luke Fodor will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 12:30-1:30pm Thursday at Lind’s. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
