City Council To Hold Special Meeting Today

The Jamestown City Council will hold a special voting session at 7:15 p.m. Today in the City Council chambers to approve a local law amending the powers and duties of the City Clerk, Comptroller and Director of Administrative Services. The public is welcome to attend.

Christmas Day Dinner Event Set

KENNEDY — Kennedy First United Methodist Church will host its annual Christmas Day dinner from 1 to 3 p.m. Christmas Day in the church fellowship hall. The dinner a complete homemade dinner of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, salads, rolls and dessert. The dinner is open to all at no charge, but donations are accepted. For more information, call the church at 267-2645. The church address is 3594 Church St. at the corner of Church and Second streets, Kennedy. The church is handicapped-accessible through the lower side door which enters directly into the fellowship hall.

MS Rap Group To Meet Saturday

The Chautauqua Region Multiple Sclerosis Rap Group will meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, in classroom 2 at UPMC Chautauqua, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. The support group is semi-structured. Snacks are provided. Those affected by the disease, including family and friends, are welcome to attend. For more information, call Debbie Lane at 962-9401.

One-Man Holiday Performance Set

On Thursday at 7 p.m., Kim Tenreiro will bring to life more than 30 characters in his one-man performance of Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol.” It will take place in the Fenton Mansion’s dining room. An optional prologue starts at 6:15 p.m. suggested for ages 13 and above. Tickets are $10 each. For reservations, call 664-6256.

Candlelight Tours Set Saturday

The Fenton History Center will hold its next guided candlelight tours of the center at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, featuring the Fenton mansion decorated for the holidays. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 17.

North Harmony Town Board Meeting Friday

STOW — The North Harmony Town Board will hold its final meeting of 2019 at noon Friday, Dec. 20. The public is welcome to attend.

Fenton History Center To Sponsor Lock-In

On Saturday, Jan. 11, the Fenton History Center will sponsor a lock-in at the Hall House Research Library on Forest Avenue from 1 p.m. to midnight. The lock-in is an opportunity for those who have an interest in genealogy to use the center’s resources, which include books, Census records, local funeral home records, countywide cemetery records, family genealogy files, maps, data bases and several computers. In addition, those participating can use their laptops or iPads. Volunteers will be available to help. The Fenton History Center will provide a light dinner and beverages. Those attending are asked to bring a snack or dessert to share. Registration requires a deposit of $30 that can be paid at the door. To register, call 664-6256.
