Legion To Host Friday Concert

Lakewood Legion Post 1286 will be hosting Smokehouse on Friday from 8-11:30 a.m. Please join us for dinner with Charlie Vullo, our chef. Specials will be prime rib, chicken Marsala and broiled or fried fish. Dinner is served from 5-9 p.m.; all members and guests are welcome.

Busti Concert Series Planned

BUSTI — Slim Griffin and the Country Gentlemen will perform from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Busti Gazebo next to the Busti Fire Hall to kick off the 2017 Busti Gazebo Concert series. Members of the band are Slim Griffin on lead guitar, fiddle and vocals; Don Pitts on drums and vocals; Greg Griffin on bass and vocals; and Mark Griffin on lead and rhythm guitar. Those attending should bring a lawn chair for seating. Sponsors are the Busti Hamlet Development Association and Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. JHS Class Of ’67 To Meet In July

The Jamestown High School Class of 1967 will hold its 50th reunion on July 28 and 29. Events will take place July 28 at Shaggys in Bemus Point and July 29 at Moon Brook Country Club. The cost is $40 per person. Other events include a golf outing at South Hills Golf Course and a tour of Jamestown High School. Vacation Bible School Planned

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Baptist Church is having a vacation Bible school from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 13, for children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. There will be a Bible lesson, snacks, games, music, missions and crafts.

Church To Host Guest Speaker

STOCKTON — Stockton Community Church, 4554 West Railroad Ave., Stockton, will host guest speaker Wayne Masiker on Sunday for the 11 a.m. worship service. Masiker grew up in Stockton and attended the Stockton church during his youth. He now lives in Lake Worth, Fla., with his wife Valerie and their two sons and serves as director of children’s ministry at Faith United Methodist Church in Lake Worth.

Empire College Plans Session

The State University of New York Empire State College will hold a public information session about its associate and bachelor’s degree programs at its Lakewood location, 305 East Fairmount Ave., Suite 5, Lakewood on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. For more information, please call 338-1508.

YMCA To Offer Karate Classes

The Jamestown YMCA is offering youth karate classes for children 5 to 15 years old and adult karate classes starting Tuesday. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. for both youth and adults. Christina Kebort, an eighth-degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, is the instructor. Kebort has more than 14 years of experience. The youth program is $40 for YMCA members and $60 for potential members while the adult program is $40 for YMCA members and $65 for potential members.
