City Man Charged After Failed Robbery Attempt

A Jamestown man faces several charges after a failed robbery attempt Wednesday on the north side of Jamestown.

Police report responding to a possible burglary at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday and being told by the resident that a man entered his residence without permission and demanded money. The resident confronted the robber and was able to forcefully remove the person from his home.

The resident told police the person who tried to rob him was allegedly Anthony M. Camarata and was able to give officers a description. Officers found Camarata later in the area and charged him with second-degree harassment and second-degree criminal trespass. According to a police report, officers also allegedly found methamphetamine while they were arresting Camarata, leading to a charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Camarata was taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.
