CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — VILLENOVA — At 4:56 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police were conducting a welfare check at an address on Prospect Road. While on scene, Kate S Pinkowski, 41, of Forestville, became disorderly and began actively fighting with law enforcement officers on scene. As a result, Pinkowski was taken into custody and charged with attempted second-degree assault. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Hector O. Dejesus, 44, of Jamestown was charged April 8 with third-degree criminal trespass. According to police, at about 2 p.m., officers responded to a trespass complaint at a condemned building on West Second Street near Jefferson Street. On arrival, Dejesus was located in the building. He was placed into custody without incident, and was taken to Jamestown City Jail. He will be in Jamestown City Court later. - Roberto E. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Marc A. Staples Jr. 22, of Buffalo, was charged April 8 with disorderly conduct, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. According to police, at about 1:37 a.m., officers were in the area of East Eighth Street and Lakeview Avenue, when they observed a physical domestic incident occurring on the sidewalk. Officers intervened, and identified the male half of the dispute as Staples. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Jeffrey M. Smith, 36, of Jamestown was charged April 6 with fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to police, at about 5:52 p.m., officers responded to a westside address for a person with a weapon complaint. Officers, police said, were advised that Smith had armed himself with a baseball bat, he allegedly used the bat to damage a refrigerator belonging to the victim inside the residence. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Billy K. Mullins, 38, of Jamestown, was charged April 3 as a fugitive of justice. According to police, at 7:24 p.m., officers were on patrol in the area of East Sixth and Lincoln streets when they observed Mullins walking in the area. Officers were aware he had an active warrant from Warren, Pa. Mullins was placed into custody without incident and taken to Jamestown City Jail. Dunkirk Fire Blamed On Electric Malfunction Investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department said a fire early Friday in the city of Dunkirk originated on the exterior of the residence as a result of a malfunctioning electrical service entrance cable. Three pets perished and a family was displaced after the fire at 122 Lake Shore Drive East in the city on Friday. Dunkirk firefighters reported at 2:13 a.m., they were dispatched to the location.
