JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Joseph R. Piazza, 42, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal tampering. Shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday, officers of the first platoon responded to an east side residence for a reported disorderly person complaint. Through investigation it was determined that Piazza tampered with the property of an elderly victim. Piazza was located a short distance away from the scene and taken into custody without incident. He was being held pending arraignment.
– Michael Hallowell, 39, was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment. At approximately 5:54 p.m.Saturday, officers responded to a Southside address for a reported domestic dispute. Through investigation, officers determined that Hallowell prevented the victim from leaving the residence during the course of a domestic incident. Hallowell was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
– Haily R. Welch, 24, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest. At approximately 3:25 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a one-year-old child wandering alone in the middle of Washington Street. Upon investigation, it was determined that the child’s babysitter, Welch, had left the child unattended outside for nearly 45 minutes. While being taken into custody, Welch resisted arrest, resulting in a brief struggle before she was transported to the Jamestown City Jail. After processing, she was released on an appearance ticket.
– Jesus M. Robles, 27, of Jamestown was charged with felony DWI, felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and traffic tickets at 5:01 a.m. Sunday after officers pulled a vehicle over on Winsor and Harrison streets. Robles had allegedly been convicted of driving while intoxicated once within the past 10 years and his driver’s license was revoked for driving while intoxicated. Robles was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Brian M. Erickson, 43, of Jamestown was charged with felony DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and traffic tickets after a motorcycle crash at 3:37 a.m. Saturday. According to a police report, a motorcycle ridden by Erickson crashed into a parked car at the intersection of Newland Avenue and Sampson Street. Police report Erickson had been convicted of driving while intoxicated three times in the past 10 years. Erickson was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Cheyanna R. Wolcott, 25, of Mayville was charged with driving while ability impaired at 4:32 p.m. Saturday after officers responded to the intersection of Crescent and Kipp streets following a report of an overdose. Wolcott allegedly overdosed while behind the wheel of a running motor vehicle. She was taken to the Jamestown City Jail and released to be in Jamestown City Court later.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
– MAYVILLE -- Around 5:40 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries. One of the operators was identified as Alysha Swalm, 33, of Mayville. Through an investigation it was discovered that Swalm failed to keep right, made an unsafe turn and was driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where she was eventually released with appearance tickets.
– WESTFIELD – John K. Evans, 37, of Westfield was charged with first-degree criminal contempt at 6:12 p.m. Sunday after deputies responded to a Route 20 home in Westfield for a reported order of protection violation complaint. Evans was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. He will be in Westfield Town Court later.
– HANOVER – Rodriguez V. Arnaldo, 61, of Buffalo was charged with passing a red signal, DWI, DWAI/alcohol at 11:52 p.m. Saturday after deputies pulled over a vehicle on Route 5 and 20 in Hanover. Rodriguez will be in Hanover Town Court later.
– HANOVER – Deanna M. Caparatta, 28, of Fredonia was charged with second-degree criminal contempt at 1:28 p.m. Sunday after a traffic stop on Route 39 in Hanover. Caparatta was allegedly in the vehicle with a person against whom there was a full stay away order. Caparatta taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
ELLICOTT POLICE
– Joseph A Ferino, 58, of Falconer was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree criminal mischief on Aug. 3 after Ellicott police responded to a domestic dispute where it is alleged Ferino physically fought with a person and damaged property. Ferino was charged and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment. Ferino will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Crystal A. Finstad, 23, and Christina M. Finstad, 59, both of Jamestown, were charged with petit larceny July 29 after officers responded to a local business where it is alleged Crystal Finstad and Christing Finstad allegedly took store merchandise and left without paying. They were issued appearance tickets to be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Natashia Rivera Rosario, 38, of Falconer was charged with third-degree criminal tampering on July 29 after Ellicott police responded to an ongoing neighbor dispute where it is alleged Rosario allegedly tampered with a security camera lens owned by another person. Rosario will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Richard A. Bentley, 50, of Celoron was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI blood alcohol content of .18 or higher, failed to yield right away/ emergency vehicle, failed to stop at a stop sign, failed to keep right, and driving across hazard markings on July 31 after police officers tried to pull a vehicle over and the driver led police on a chase. Bentley allegedly failed to comply and stop when police activated emergency lights and sirens. Bentley was allegedly seen driving erratically on the road and failed to stop at a stop sign with police behind him. Bentley will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
– Ronald S. Caldwell, 61, of Bemus Point was charged with petit larceny on July 28 after Ellicott police responded to a shoplifting in progress where it is alleged Caldwell walked past the point of sale with unpaid merchandise owned by Wegmans. Caldwell will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
