JAMESTOWN POLICE
– Tyler L. Evans, 30, of Cattaraugus County was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and second-degree criminal impersonation at 2:01 a.m. Tuesday after officers patrolling a north side neighborhood allegedly saw a suspicious individual trespassing. When officers tried to identify the man, he allegedly provided a false name and then reportedly ran away. After a brief foot chase, the male was apprehended and taken to the Jamestown City Jail. The individual was later identified as 30-year-old Tyler L. Evans from Cattaraugus County. Evans was found in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl and had an active parole absconder warrant. Evans was held in the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Anna M. Raynor, 59, of Jamestown was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property at 1:06 a.m. Tuesday after officers patrolling the area of North Main and East Fifth streets saw Raynor riding a bicycle officers had prior knowledge of allegedly being reported stolen. Officers then conducted a street check on Raynor, and she was taken into custody without incident. Raynor was taken to the city jail until she could be arraigned.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
– SILVER CREEK – At 4:54 a.m. Tuesday, the Silver Creek Fire Department and several mutual aid departments responded to 330 Central Ave., Silver Creek, for a residential structure fire. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Investigators were able to determine that the fire started as a result of the malfunction of a re-chargeable lithium ion battery pack. The fire was ruled as accidental in nature.
