¯ NORTH HARMONY — Richard J. Conway Jr., 39, of Mayville was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, uninsured motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle and failure to signal a turn. Deputies stopped a vehicle for a violation on Spooner Road in North Harmony on Thursday. Conway was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license and in possession of 2 grams of methamphetamine. Further investigation found that the vehicle’s license plates had been switched with another vehicle. Conway was released to appear in North Harmony Town Court at a later date.
¯ ARKWRIGHT — Alisha Scinta, 48, of Fredonia was taken into custody following a warrant check Wednesday in Arkwright. Scinta was wanted on felony grand larceny. Scinta was reportedly found in a residence hiding under debris in a closet. She was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown.
¯ SINCLAIRVILLE — Benjamin M. Gray, 27, of Sinclairville was arrested on warrants for violation of probation in Chautauqua and Allegany counties and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance. He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance. Stevie Provorse, 25, of Cassadaga was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance. At approximately 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, deputies, who were assisted by tips brough forth by community members, located and arrested Gray. Intel was received that he was hiding in an unoccupied Sinclairville residence without the permission of the owner. He was found hiding in the basement. It was later found that Gray and Provorse were found in possession of methamphetamine, which was in a location directly accessible to a young child inside the house. Pending lab results from other drug materials found, Gray may face additional drug-related charges. He is being held without bail in the Chautauqua County Jail, and Provorse is being held on pre-arraignment bail. Both will appear in Charlotte Town Court later.
¯ CHARLOTTE — Miranda L. Bush, 23, of Stockton was charged with two counts of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, speed in zone and operating without a license. At approximately 8:20 a.m. Thursday, deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Park Street in Sinclairville. After the vehicle was stopped, Bush was identified and found to be in possession of a glycine package containing heroin. An investigation, assisted by K9 Drake, was conducted and yielded hydrocodone pills. Bush was arraigned in Charlotte Town Court and released under the supervision of probation. She is scheduled to appear in town court.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Fernando N. Velazquez, 31, and Sarah E. Lundsten, 36, both of Jamestown, were charged with petit larceny. Ellicott police were called to a business for a shoplifting complaint at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Both were taken into custody following an investigation and are scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.

¯ POLAND — Taylor Wright, 24, of Randolph was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Ann-Marine Mercer, 20, of Randolph was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers stopped at the Poland Town barn to check on a lone vehicle Monday at 2:30 a.m. Troopers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, and a search found that Wright was allegedly in possession of two straws containing heroin residue and 4 grams of marijuana. Mercer was found in possession of 8 grams of marijuana and a smoking device. Both were processed and area scheduled to appear in Poland Town Court at a later date.
¯ OLEAN — Jesse E. Smith, 25, of Olean was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, DWI with a prior conviction, aggravated unlicensed operation and circumventing an interlock device. Troopers stopped Smith Monday on Route 16 in Olean, who was found to have obvious signs of impairment. Smith was found not to have a valid license at the time of the stop. He was transported to police barracks and provided a breath sample of .14 percent. He was arraigned and remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail without bail. Smith is scheduled to appear in Olean Town Court in November.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE
¯ WARREN — A 15-year-old female of Russell, Pa., was charged with harassment. At 9:13 a.m. Wednesday, state police of Warren, Pa., were dispatched to Eisenhower Middle/High School. Upon arrival, troopers determined a female student had hit a male student with a book and had proceeded to strike him with a closed fist five times.
JAMESTOWN POLICE
DEPARTMENT
Donald W. Peach Jr., 57, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and Scott Eddy, 19, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and using drug paraphernalia Wednesday. According to police, at about 4:36 p.m. officers conducted traffic stop of a vehicle operated by Peach, on North Main Street near 10th street. Upon further investigation, officers found that Eddy was a passenger in Peach’s vehicle and was wanted on Jamestown City Court arrest warrants. Eddy was taken into custody without incident, and was found to be allegedly in possession of methamphetamine. With the aid of The New York State Police, and its K-9 Unit, Rubi, more methamphetamine and crack cocaine was allegedly found in Peach’s vehicle. Peach and Eddy were transported to city jail, and will be in city court later.
