FAW Trail Stewards Clear Trail
WARREN, Pa. – Members of Friends of Allegheny Wilderness (FAW) got some trail clearing done in the Hickory Creek Wilderness Area in the Allegheny National Forest recently, including chopping a path through a 30-inch diameter ash tree that had been down across the trail for nearly two years. Only non-motorized hand tools are allowed in federally designated wilderness areas. People interested in joining FAW with their ongoing trail stewardship work can contact the organization for details at info@pawild.org. FAW’s next major trail stewardship project in the Hickory Creek Wilderness will likely occur in March or April. Follow FAW on Facebook to keep up with all of the latest announcements: facebook.com/FriendsofAlleghenyWilderness.
