Lake Sewer District Board Meeting Today

MAYVILLE — There will be a meeting of the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District board at 4:30 p.m. today in the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St, Room 331, Mayville. The meeting is open to the public.

Breakfast Club To Meet Thursday

DUNKIRK — The New York State Department of Transportation Breakfast Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Demetrio’s in Dunkirk. All retirees are welcome to attend. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Hank at 716-965-2007.

Brookdale To Hold Annual Senior Sweetheart Contest

Brookdale Lakewood will hold its annual Chautauqua County Senior Sweetheart Contest. This special county-wide contest is driven by the community to recognize one individual for their service, talent, commitment, achievement or overall positive impact on their family, friends, and the community we live in.  All nominees must be at least 70 years old and live in Chautauqua County. They can nominated by contacting Scott Lumia, sales manager of Brookdale Lakewood, at 716-665-2414 or scott.lumia@brookdale.com or be mailed to his attention at 220 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, NY 14750. All entries are due by Tuesday, Feb. 7. The winner will be crowned at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, by Joy King, executive director of Brookdale Lakewood, during a special community recognition reception. The 2023 Sweetheart will be eligible to receive a package of gifts worth more than $500. Entertainment and complimentary refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the crowning. Alzheimer’s Association To Hold Meeting At Library

SINCLAIRVILLE — The public is invited to the Sinclairville Free Library for ‘Effective Communication Strategies,’ an education program presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The session will include how communication changes when someone is living with Alzheimer’s and learn how to identify strategies to help connect and communicate at each stage of the disease. Association To Hold Public Information Meeting

The Eastern Lake Erie Charter Boat Association will be hosting a public information meeting on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. All NY Lake Erie Fishing Charter Captains are encouraged to attend. Information will be disseminated on the Come Fish Lake Erie Marketing Program and how captains can participate for free.
