Humane Society Waving Fees For Veterans Day

To honor service members on Veterans Day, the Chautauqua County Humane Society is waiving pet adoption fees for all veterans and active military. The adoption fee will be waived on any successfully completed adoption to any adopter with valid Military I.D. that submits an application between Monday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 14. All cat and dog adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and microchip identification implant. The standard adoption screening process still applies during all fee-waived promotions. Parish Hosting Ham Dinner

BROCTON — On Saturday from 4-7 p.m., Tri-Church Parish will host its annual Harvest Ham Dinner. Due to COVID-19, we will be following restrictions. It will be the same beloved dinner as served in past years. The dinner will be available as take-out only with no advance sales. Those purchasing dinners will go to the church’s upper parking lot and then down to the lower parking lot to purchase and pick-up food. The menu is ham, mashed potatoes, squash, applesauce, roll and butter — complete with a choice of a piece of homemade pie. The cost is $15 for those ages 10 and up, $10 for ages 5-9 and free for those under the age of 4.

Leon Historical Invites Public For Veterans Day

LEON — The Leon Historical Society invites the public to a Veteran’s Day celebration at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Old 1836 Church in Leon. The event will be to thank all veterans and view the display of pictures, uniforms and dedicate new signs commemorating soldiers from all the American wars. Panama BOE To Meet Thursday

PANAMA — Members of the Panama Central School Board will gather at 7 a.m. Thursday in the board room for a special meeting. The public is welcome to attend.

Bemus Point BOE To Meet

BEMUS POINT — Members of the Bemus Point Central School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday for a public hearing to discuss the district’s emergency response plan. An executive session will then be held at 5:45 p.m. followed by a regular meeting at 6:15 p.m. The meetings will take place in the STEAM room located at Maple Grove Middle-High School on Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. The public is welcome to attend.

Christian Women To Host Lunch Tuesday

The Jamestown-Warren Christian Women will hold its November luncheon at noon Tuesday at Calvary Chapel in Russell, across from the Pine Grove medical offices. Parking is in the rear. Lunch will be provided by the committee for $5. Guest speaker will be Mardi Backstrom of Russell and music will be by Vi Burchard of Warren. Bring a $1 brown bag for Village Missions donation or socks for veterans for those who did not do so in October. The committee is planning a Christmas bazaar for Dec. 14.
