Frewsburg School Board To Hold Special Meeting

FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Thursday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will begin with a public session to review the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES upcoming capital project. Following the public session, there is an anticipated executive session to discuss matters relating to the employment histories of a particular person or persons, as well as matters related to the hiring of a new superintendent of schools. There will be no action taken after the executive session.

Busti Historical Society To Hold Busti Athletes Presentation

The Busti Historical Society and Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame will host a presentation on Busti athletes at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the 3443 Lawson Road, Jamestown. Randy Anderson, Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame president, will share stories of standout athletes including Bobby Schnars, a 2002 inductee known as “The King” of local stock car racing, with 136 feature wins over a career spanning more than two decades. Admission is free and open to all.

Outdoor Club To Hike Sunday

On Sunday, April 29, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike to Hector Falls, Ludlow. The hike is an out and back hike totaling about 2 miles. Participants should know that the group will travel around 2 miles on unpaved roads. The hike to the falls is downhill on the way in and then uphill the whole way back. Those attending will meet at Musante Street at 2 p.m. in Warren and then travel to the trailhead. Tom Patterson will be the hike leader.

Audubon Photo Club To Meet May 2

Participants in Audubon Community Nature Center’s newly relaunched Audubon Photography Club will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2. The group meets the first Saturday of each month, and welcomes new photographers each time. A brief presentation will be offered at the end to help you develop your nature photography skills. To be included in May’s slideshow, one week before, submit five photos under the meeting’s themes of “Flowers” or “Close-ups” to Club coordinator, Nature Educator Taylor Spontaneo at TSpontaneo@AudubonCNC.org Coffee and tea are provided. Depending on weather and time, at the end of the meeting participants will go outside to take pictures and/or walk around the trails for a bit. Participation is $4 for adults, $3 for Nature Center members and children ages 9-15. Reservations are appreciated by calling 716-569-2345 or going to AudubonCNC.org/may-photo-club. Walk-ins are welcome.

Pine Valley To Hold UPK Roundup

SOUTH DAYTON – Pine Valley Central School will host Universal Pre-Kindergarten Roundup for children entering in the fall of 2026 on May 19 and 20. District residents who have a child who will be three or four years of age on or before Dec. 1, 2026, and has not been added to the list should call Ms. Colburn at the Pine Valley Elementary Office at 988-3291, ext. 3260.
