Water Line Struck Thursday In Lakewood
The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities said a contractor struck a water line in Lakewood in the area of Shadyside on Thursday. Water was restored but the BPU said it may be discolored in the village for 12 to 24 hours. Customers should be sure their water appears clear before doing laundry.
CVCS Board To Meet Monday
The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. Social distancing will be enforced.
JCC Transfer
Agreement Approved
A new master transfer agreement between Jamestown Community College and St. Bonaventure University has been approved. The agreement guarantees admission, with full junior standing and the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree in four semesters at St. Bonaventure, to students who graduate from JCC with an associates degree and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. JCC graduates who meet the requirements can transfer up to 75 credits toward fulfilling a bachelor’s degree of their choice except nursing. Transferring credits into St. Bonaventure’s nursing degree program is outlined in a separate articulation agreement. The master agreement also contains information specific to transfer into St. Bonaventure’s degree programs in accounting, adolescence education, bioinformatics, broadcast journalism, chemistry, childhood education, childhood & early childhood education, inclusive childhood education, inclusive childhood & early childhood education, childhood studies, computer science, criminology, cybersecurity, English, finance, health and society, health science, journalism, management, marketing, nursing, philosophy, physical education, psychology, public health, sociology, Spanish, sport studies, sports management, sports media, strategic communication, and women’s studies. Aux. To Serve Veterans Day Dinner Nov. 11
To honor all veterans, AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726 will be serving a rigatoni with meat sauce dinner on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown, from 2-5 p.m. The dinner includes salad, bread and dessert. Non-veterans may get a dinner for a $7 donation. The dinners may be eaten in the dining room or can be packaged to go.
Quilters Guild Sets Schedule For Meetings
WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilt Guild willl now meet at the Westfield YWCA at 9:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month (except for December), weather-permitting followed by the monthly meeting at 10 a.m. This month, the group will learn a new technique from one of the members. The meeting room is spacious to allow for social distancing, and masks must be worn. The Westfield Quilt Guild works throughout the year on comfort quilts that are distributed to various local groups each November. This year, the group is donating pillowcases, shawls, hats and over 100 quilts to those groups.
