Reg Lenna To Screen ‘The Celluloid Closet’ Friday

The Celluloid Closet will be screened at 7 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. The film is a history of the role of gay men and lesbians have had on the silver screen. The film assembles footage from 120 films showing the changing face of cinema sexuality. The Celluloid Closet is rated R and is 102 minutes long. Upcoming Movies at The Reg include Ryan Gosling in the spring sci-fi hit movie Project Hail Mary (June 17 at 7 p.m.), Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada 2 (June 24 at 7 p.m.) and Hugh Jackman in the family comedy/mystery The Sheep Detectives (June 27 at 4 p.m.).

Pairs And Spares To Host Picnic, Bonfire

KIANTONE – The Pairs and Spares will host a picnic and bonfire at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 13, weather permitting, at the Kiantone Congregational Church, 646 Kiantone Road. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass and lawn chairs optional.

Clymer Historical Marker To Be Dedicated Sunday

CLYMER – The Clymer Area Historical Society will hold a dedication ceremony Sunday, June 14, at 2 p.m. at the center of Clymer. An historical marker commemorating a town wide gathering at the Eagle Hotel in support of the re-election of President Ulysses S. Grant in 1872 will be unveiled along with a brief dramatic presentation by the town historian. All are welcome to attend.

Patriot Marker Dedication In Red Bird Cemetery Is Sunday

ELLERY – Dedication of a Patriot Marker in the Red Bird Cemetery in Ellery is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 14. The public is welcome to attend. The cemetery is located near Red Bird Corners on Route 380, near what is referred to as Towerville.

North Harmony Seniors To Meet June 15

STOW – The May meeting of North Harmony Seniors had 38 members in attendance. The Hospitality Committee of Bev Butts and Linda and Lois Kesby oversaw the potluck offers for dinner. May birthdays were acknowledged for Marion Coffaro, Marty LaFredo and Gordy Saulsgiver. Following dinner, Denny Cornell was auctioneer of members’ donated items they no longer could use. Winners of the 50/50 raffle were Chuck Ellis and Laurie Magnuson. The next potluck dinner will be June 15 at 5 p.m. followed by a presentation from Bob Johnson entitled “Trolley Car 93”. There will be a business meeting July 6 at 11 a.m. which is open to all members. All club activities are at the clubhouse on Stow Road across from the North Harmony Town Offices. Those interested are encouraged to attend.
