Clymer, Sherman, Panama School Board To Hear Merger Presentation June 16

PANAMA – The Clymer, Sherman, and Panama Central School’s Boards of Education will hold a special joining board meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, in the Panama Central School auditorium for the presentation of the erger study to the boards. The public is welcome to attend.

Fenton History Center To Host Discussion Of First Presbyterian Church History

The Fenton History Center will host Dr. John Smagner on Tuesday, June 16, at 7 p.m. in the Gov. Reuben E. Fenton Mansion. Smagner, an architectural historian who often attended First Presbyterian Church as a child, wrote the successful nomination to place the church on the National Register of Historic Places. Ralph Adams Cram, the building’s architect, was one of the early twentieth century’s most influential architects. He drew inspiration from his travels throughout Europe and from the Arts and Crafts Movement then becoming popular in the United States. The lecture is part of the Fenton History Center’s lecture series. The event is free and open to the public. Lectures are held in the dining room at the Gov. Reuben Fenton mansion. They are also streamed via YouTube. Donations are appreciated to support the Fenton History Center’s mission to preserve local history and provide educational opportunities.
