Meat Giveaway To Be Held Friday

MAYVILLE — The town of Chautauqua Hometown Heroes Veterans Memorial Committee is hosting a prime rib, steak and shrimp giveaway Friday at 5:30 p.m. until gone at Lake Chautauqua Memorial VFW Post 8647 in Mayville. All proceeds will benefit the memorial to be built in the Mayville Cemetery early next year. It will be a gazebo structure. Commemorative bricks can be purchased to honor or in memory of the men and women who have served. For more information, call Clara at 581-1790.

Historical Society To Meet Monday

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society will be holding its final monthly meeting of the year on Monday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. at its facility on 5 W. Main St., Frewsburg, behind the Carroll town hall. There will be a pot luck dinner. Those attending should bring a dish to pass, their own table service and beverage. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. following the dinner. The society will vote on new by-laws and new officers. Offices up are president, vice president, secretary, treasure and two trustees. Also a discussion on the town’s decision on the current leakage problem will be discussed. All members are urged to attend. The dinner and meeting is opened to the public.

‘Horseshoes For Heroes’ Set Sat.

GERRY — The NEIGH Program will host a “Horseshoes for Heroes” tournament Saturday, Nov. 23, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Homestead Stables, 4633 Damon Hill Road, Gerry. The event will include food, vendors and giveaways. The cost is $20 per person and $40 for a team of two. Proceeds will support veterans and first responders and for the NEIGH Program’s mobile unit. Youth Sports Fundraiser Sun.

Coach’s Corner Inn will hold its sixth annual fundraising event for youth sports from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Morton club in Jamestown. The benefit will include a steak fry, a 300 club drawing, several giveaways, a Chinese auction, 50/50 giveaways and live music by The Short Bus. Tickets for the steak fry and 300 Club tickets are $20 each. The steak fry tickets are available as pre-sale only. There is no fee to attend the event and it is open to the public. There will also be a cash bar. The Falconer Little League and Frewsburg Little League will be the recipients of the fundraiser. In the previous five years, Coach’s Corner Inn has raised and donated more than $11,000 to local youth sports programs.

Holiday Market To Be Held Sat.

The Fenton History Center will host a holiday artisan market and vintage show on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those who attend will be able to tour the 150-year-old mansion, decorated for the holidays, and shop booths set up throughout the house featuring vintage and holiday items and handmade artisan crafts. Hazeltine Library Board To Meet

BUSTI — Trustees for the Hazeltine Public Library will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m. The library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road. Members of the public are invited to attend. For more information, call the library at 487-1281.
