JPS Board Sets Tuesday Meeting

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the board room at 197 Martin Road. Items on the agenda include the district’s participation in the Small City Schools lawsuit, approval of an overnight field trip to the Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute and approval of the 2019-2020 school calendar. The public is welcome to attend.

Ag Workshop Will Be Held

Cornell Cooperative Extension will hold its next (Learn. Empower. Achieve. Farm.) workshop series, “Keeping Long Term Hay Fields Productive” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Frank W. Bratt Agricultural Center, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown. The workshop is led by Dan Steward of WNY Crop Management Association and costs $5 per person. Steward will discuss setting goals for forage quality and how cutting schedules, species selections, soil fertility, and fertilization all contribute to a farmer’s success. Food Bank Truck Available Tuesday

ASHVILLE — The Food Bank of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck from Buffalo will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church on Tuesday. Open hours are 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. Land Bank To Meet Wednesday

DUNKIRK — The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the main conference room of the Fredonia Technology Incubator, Dunkirk. The board will discuss business associated with the acquisition and sale of property by the land bank and other official business as required. The Audit Committee will meet prior to the board at 2:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, call Gina Paradis at 969-7843.

Westfield Church Luncheon Friday

WESTFIELD — On Friday, March 1, several area service providers will be present at the Westfield Community Luncheon at the Westfield United Methodist Church, 101 E Main St., from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Nancy Dunbar representing Chautauqua Opportunities dementia care, Sandy Harle representing Chautauqua Palliative and Hospice Care, Marie Baun representing the Western New York Alzheimer’s Association Chapter and Judy Wroda representing the No Wrong Door /NY Connects program will all be available to assist, answer questions and give information on their programs. The Westfield Community Luncheon is open to all residents and families of the Westfield area. The lunch is free to all who attend.
