Library Group To Meet Wednesday

FLUVANNA — The Fluvanna Free Library will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The public is welcome to attend.

Summer Series Continues

The City Summer Bandshell Concert series will feature the Jamestown Municipal Band, directed by Rick Lundquist at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Goranson Bandshell in Allen Park. The concert theme is “A Patriotic Salute.” In addition to funding provided annually by the City of Jamestown, these concerts are made available free to the public through the support of the following: AJ’s Texas Hots, Allen Park Women’s Club, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Fessenden, Laumer & DeAngelo; Lind Funeral Home, Local 134, American Federation of Musicians; Scandinavian Studies Program, Salon 1, The Resource Center, The United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County Projects Pool Grant Program and WCA Hospital. Members of the Allen Park Women’s Club will sell coffee, fudge and other baked goods. All concerts are free to the public. Those attending can bring lawn chairs, blankets or park their vehicles close by to listen to the music.

Thrift Shop

Sale Extended

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, will extend its 35th anniversary sale through the Fourth of July week. Items are available three for $5 in the men’s or ladies’ departments, including shoes and handbags. Children’s clothing is five items for $3. Hours this week are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The shop is closed Saturdays in July and August. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The all-volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.

Swiss Steak

Dinner Planned

The North Harmony United Methodist Church, 6814 Sherman-Stedman Road, near Woodcrest Golf Course, will host a Swiss steak dinner on Saturday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The meal includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, roll, ice cream and beverage. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children. A bake sale table is also available. The proceeds will benefit community outreach projects.

Cruise Around The Lake Set

The Southern Tier Classic Chevy Club will host a Cruise Around The Lake on Saturday. The event begins with a cruise-in from 4-6 p.m. at Wing City Grille, 804 Fairmount Ave., Lakewood. The group will leave Wing City at 6 p.m. for a drive around the lake, ending at the Fifties Diner on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood. The cruise is sponsored by Wing City Grill and the Southern Tier Classic Chevy Club. For more information, call Ray at 763-0980.

Religious Service Set For Sunday

The LECOM Health Challenge will host a religious service at 6:30 a.m. on the 18th fairway of Peek’n Peak Resort’s Upper Course on Sunday. Peek’n Peak Resort is located at 1405 Old Road, in Clymer.

Ellington Concert Set For Saturday

ELLINGTON — Ellington Concerts in the Square will feature Maurice Brown and the Mountain Railroad Band from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday. The performance will take place rain or shine. Refreshments will be made available by the Ellington Community Church.
