Youth Karate To Be Offered At Y

The Jamestown YMCA is offering youth karate classes for children 5 to 15 years old and adult karate classes starting Tuesday. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. for both youth and adults. Christina Kebort, an eighth-degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, is the instructor. Kebort has more than 14 years of experience. The youth program is $40 for YMCA members and $60 for potential members while the adult program is $40 for YMCA members and $65 for potential members. Planning Board Meets Tuesday

POMFRET — The Chautauqua County Planning Board will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the LoGuidice Center in Pomfret, located at 9520 Fredonia-Stockton Road. All meetings of the County Planning Board are open to the public.

Chapter Meeting Planned Tuesday

FREWSBURG — The David L. Woodburn Chapter 978, VVA Chapter Meeting will be held at the Frewsburg American Legion on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Greg Carlson, Chautauqua County veterans service officer, will be speaking on claims by Iraq/Afghanistan veterans and other veterans who require assistance. Bob Lewis, president of the chapter, will also be reporting on information he obtained at the recent state council meeting in Owego. All veterans are invited to attend. Historical Society To Host Meeting

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the museum in Sinclairville. John Sipos will share a Patriotic moment in honor of the country’s independence. The society will also be honoring Sipos for his birthday. Anyone interested in local history is welcome to attend. For more information call Larry Barmore, president, at 985-4870. ‘Ben Hur’ To Be Shown Tuesday

BEMUS POINT — Christ Church LCMC, 3012 Route 430, Bemus Point, will screen the movie “Ben Hur” at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Hot dogs, popcorn and beverages are provided. There is no charge to attend.

Bible School In Ellington Offered

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Baptist Church is having a vacation Bible school from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday, July 10, through Thursday, July 13, for children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. There will be a Bible lesson, snacks, games, music, missions and crafts.

Busti Gazebo Series Continues

BUSTI — Slim Griffin and the Country Gentlemen will perform from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Busti Gazebo to kick off the 2017 Busti Gazebo Concert series. Members of the band are Slim Griffin on lead guitar, fiddle and vocals; Don Pitts on drums and vocals; Greg Griffin on bass and vocals; and Mark Griffin on lead and rhythm guitar. Those attending should bring a lawn chair for seating. Sponsors are the Busti Hamlet Development Association and Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.
