Following are the results from Week 5 of the Dot’s Gift Boutique Northwest Arena Winter Backyard Curling League:

MONDAY LEAGUE

4 Below Haggy’s Bar & Grille jumped up in the standings as went 2-0 this week, they did so by knocking off league leading Fruit of the Brooms (55-41) and Tim Horton’s (48-46) as they were led by Christina Martin and Emily Boskat. Gemstones doubled their win total as they also went undefeated on the week, with wins over Scuba Crew (41-28) and Curling Me Softly (40-36) with Kim Williams and Michelle Newman leading the way. Legion of Broom had a good night with two wins over Curling Me Softly (39-32) and Sonic Sliders as Dan Tota and Adam Irgang were the outstanding curlers. Fruit of the Brooms bounced back with a (38-30) win over co-workers from the Sonic Sliders crew, with a Frank Fuller stellar performance. Shoeless Joe’s Pub started out their night, with a victory over CurlRona (56-36) with strong play from Theresa Jackson. Then Scuba Crew knocked off the Shoeless One’s, with a (30-28) victory thanks to strong play from Tony Stellato. Tim Horton’s also knocked off CurlRona (41-31) behind strong play from Dan Connor.

MONDAY LEAGUE

Mary’s Smooth Red Curlers jumped into first place as they defeated Short & Curly (31-28) and Stone Cold (45-26) with outstanding play coming from Dave Foti. Also going 2-0 were The Don Curleones as they defeated The Outsliders (51-21) and Short & Curly (34-17) as Mike Allen and Marty Abers were their top curlers. Quaranteam defeated the Rolling Stones (34-32) as Evan Rodgers led the way. Rolling Stones bounced back in their next game, earning a (38-19) victory over The Outsliders with their top curlers Toby Disbro and Troy Stimson. On the Rocks turned the tables on Quaranteam with a close (46-39) win, with Captain Dan Gustafson leading the way. Stone Cold opened up their night with a decisive win over On the Rocks, (48-32) as they received an outstanding effort from Kenzie Caldwell.

5:15 STEVE CHAMBERS @ DAVE WARREN JEEP WEDNESDAY LEAGUE

TRCurlers jumped up in the standings with a two-win night, as they defeated the Pepsi Rockstar-Z (41-33) and the Pepsi Banger-Z (36-27), as they were led by Kevin Anderson and Tod Szczech. Curl Power also secured two wins over the Rockstar-Z (30-20) and the Merrill Lynch Cirls (45-39), behind strong play from Emily Cama and Mary Maggio. Going 1-1 on the night, the Pepsi Banger-Z bounced back with a win over Hindy’s Hurlers (36-31) behind Mia Goot’s strong play. Hindy’s Hurlers knocked off Casey Enterprise (45-38) as they received some outstanding curling stickwork Liz Hinderleider. Rocks on, Rocks off remained on top of the division with their victory over the Merrill Lynch Cirls (40-36), as Jim Cama was the smooth curler. Casey’s Enterprise knocked off league leaders Rocks on, Rocks off in their first game, (44-41) in a thriller as Brian DeVine slid the game winner on the final stone.

6:15 STEVE CHAMBERS @ DAVE WARREN JEEP WEDNESDAY LEAGUE

It was a great night for both Lewis & Lewis teams, as they both earned two victories, with Lewis & Lewis I defeating R2 J2 (40-25) and Sky Rocketeers (36-33) with Cathy and Cindy Panebianco being the top curlers. For Lewis & Lewis II, Jim and George Panebianco carried their team to victory over Paving Ice (39-26) and R2 J2 (44-39). Sky Rocketeers pulled off a close win over Curls Gone Wild (33-31) as they received outstanding play from Dave Barber. Curls Gone Wild bounced back with a victory over the Ice Men (39-21) as Steve Ryberg led the way. The Brush Offs continued their winning ways as they defeated the Ice Men (40-34) behind strong play from Jenn Swanson. Kevin Gastol for Paving Ice was too much to handle as they defeated previously undefeated Brush Offs (30-21) in their second game.

7:15 STEVE CHAMBERS @ DAVE WARREN JEEP WEDNESDAY LEAGUE

Jenn Scolton delivered for Curl Power to complete their 2-0 week, by defeating Lemon Pepper (34-25) and Frozme Stones (30-25). Sub Zero recorded two wins, as they bested Home Despots (38-33) and Lemon Pepper (34-29), with Franni Carlson and Ruth Kreise showing their curling prowess. All going 1-1 this week, was Dot’s Gift Boutique, as they also defeated 12 oz. Curlers (41-16) as they were led by Dan Davis. Stones of Fury knocked off Dot’s in double overtime (43-41) as Josh Reed was the smooth curler. Frozme Stones bounced back with a (35-29) win over Stone of Fury with Jim Bergman being the leading curler. Home Despots earned an exciting victory by defeating 12 oz. Curlers (37-30), on Ryan Roush’s final stone as he cleared eight potential points from the Curlers and left his 3-point stone in the house, to snatch the win.

LEGEND GROUP FRIDAY LEAGUE

Sweeping Beauties had their first two victory sweep, as they defeated previous league leaders Tracey’s Dog (41-36) and the Bemus Boulders (50-34), as they were led by John Rappole and Cesca Wellman. The Chestnuts picked up two wins over Bottom Up (46-38) and TBA (41-29) with Dawn and Steve Columbare being the top curlers. Also going 2-0, was Freezerburn with wins over Nikki’s Team (34-29) and 4 Below Haggy’s Bar & Grille (43-23), as they received outstanding play from Rich Miller and Bruce Moore. Seminar Group defeated 4 Below (39-29), with Rob White leading the way. Nikki’s Team topped Tracey’s Dog (40-21) with Ben Snow being their outstanding curlers. Bottom Up recorded a win over the Seminar Group (43-31), as Phil Mead and Doug Peterson led the way.
