Cardinals Run Baseball Record To 9-1

RANDOLPH — Falconer scored seven runs in the final two innings, but it was not enough as Randolph held on for the 8-7 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 baseball victory Tuesday

Randolph (9-1, 8-0) built its lead with Hunter Foster hitting 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBIs, Bryson Pitts added a double and scored twice and Randall Nottingham drove in a pair of runs. Aiden Taylor earned the win with three strikeouts in six innings, but it was Gavin Senn earning the save as he secured two strikeouts in the seventh.

Falconer (4-3, 4-3) was led by Erik Stenstrom hitting 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI, Logan Johnson hit 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and two runs scored and Chase Bianco scored twice. Colton Rhinehart was the losing pitcher.

GOWANDA BREEZES

PORTVILLE — Kyan Austin hit 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and scored twice to lead Gowanda past Portville 10-2 Division 3.

Jayden Fish added another two hits and an RBI for Gowanda (8-2, 8-0), while Carter Capozzi secured the win on the mound with eight strikeouts and just one earned run on seven hits and one walk.

Parker Keim hit 2 for 4 for Portville (3-6, 2-6).

BULLDOGS PULL AWAY

FREWSBURG — Brocton/Cassadaga Valley tacked on three insurance runs to secure a comfortable 8-3 Division 2 win over Frewsburg.

Jackson Crowell led Brocton/Cassadaga Valley (5-3, 4-1) from the plate and the mound, hitting 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and a double, then she struck out 10 batters while giving up just three hits and four walks. Aiden Gatto also went 2 for 5 with 2 RBIs and Drew Gustafson was 1 for 1.

Drake Beckstrom hit 1 for 1 with an RBI and run scored for Frewsburg (1-5, 1-4), while Gavin Weaver was the losing pitcher with five strikeouts in six innings.
