Catholic Charities Thanks Its Supporters

To The Reader’s Forum: Over the past year, 14,522 neighbors in need of all ages throughout Chautauqua County were served by the seven programs Catholic Charities offers here. We provided basic emergency assistance, including support for food and resources for housing. Our licensed counselors offered counseling services for all ages. Unacceptable Behavior For Snowmobilers

To the Readers Forum: Recently my two girlfriends and I set out for an afternoon cross county ski on a trail shared with cross country skiers, hikers, and snowmobilers. The snow conditions were good and the trail was well groomed and very wide. As the trails were busy with snowmobilers, we stayed to the right occupying one third of the trail. During our ski we encountered many snowmobilers who were courteous, slowed down, formed a single line and waved as they passed us. Kicking The Public Out For Voting Is Unacceptable

Once again, the NCC and The Gebbie Foundation have shown their disdain for the people of Jamestown. According to the agreement with the DOT, when the train station was restored for the use by the people of Jamestown, it stipulated the public shall not be kept out of the train station lobby anytime the lobby is open. Look at the language the NCC uses towards the people of Jamestown — “(the NCC) will insist that you find an alternate location in the future as it is a hardship going forward. Another Day Of Infamy

To The Reader’s Forum: Watching the news today, Jan. 6, 2021, and witnessing the violent attempt to overturn the election, I am reminded of the words of President Franklin Roosevelt, when speaking about the attack on Pearl Harbor, “this is a day that will live in infamy.” The horrifying difference being that this time we were attacked, not by a foreign enemy, but by a horde of domestic terrorists, spurred on by the President of our country, Donald Trump.
