CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Christopher R. Firkins, 49, of Cherry Creek, was charged June 4 with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, and speeding. According to officials, at about 11:54 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Route 83 in the town of Cherry Creek. The operator was identified as Firkins, and further investigation found Firkins allegedly to be driving while intoxicated. City man faces federal indictment on drug charges

A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Joseph Fontanez Walker, 35, of Jamestown, N.Y., with narcotics conspiracy, which carries a minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life, and a 10,000,000 fine. According to the indictment, between 2019 and January 2022, Fontanez Walker allegedly conspired with others to sell fentanyl and heroin in the Jamestown area. Fontanez Walker was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and is being held pending a detention hearing on June 8, 2026. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Paul R. Briggs, was charged June 3 with third-degree trespass. According to police, at about 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a Southside address for a reported trespass in progress. Upon arrival, police said, officers located Briggs inside the residence. Officers were advised that the address was condemned by the Jamestown Department of Development. Briggs was placed into custody, and taken to the Jamestown City Jail. Four charged after raids on Lincoln, Thayer streets

Four Jamestown residents face charges after a search warrants were executed at two Jamestown apartments on Thursday. Narcotics Investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and Jamestown Police Department executed the search warrants at 220 Lincoln St., Apt. 3, and at 109 Thayer St., Apt. 2, Jamestown. According to a police report, investigators seized more than 29 grams of fentanyl, 1.2 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine, scales and packaging material for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $1,054 during the two raids. Pa. man charged after allegedly threatening Catt. Co. deputy

A man with ties to Warren County, Pa., has been charged after allegedly threatening a Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office deputy. Layton Love, 46, was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with interstate communication of a threat, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. According to the complaint, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office contacted the FBI regarding threatening text messages sent on May 18, 2026, to the cellular telephone number of a detective with the Sheriff’s Office.
