A Jamestown man has been sentenced for his guilty plea involving drug charges. District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced Monday that 33-year-old Jamal Jackson was sentenced to a total of 6 years in state prison with 5 years of post-release supervision by Judge David W. Foley after being convicted of fourth-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Jami Slater, 35, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs at 10:40 p.m. July 24 after officers responded to a request to check the well being of a person at the Tim Hortons restaurant in Brooklyn Square after it was reported there was a woman in a car slumped over the steering wheel.
