LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT -Julie M. Whiting, 45, of Jamestown, was charged Feb. 6 with second-degree assault, and resisting arrest. According to police, at about 11:20 a.m., officers responded to a Lawson Road address in the town of Busti for a peace officer complaint. While at the residence, police said, Whiting allegedly became disorderly, and slammed a wooden door into an officer causing injury to the officer’s arm and hand. While being placed into custody, Whiting allegedly pulled away from officers and physically resisted arrest. She will be in Busti Town Court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — SHERMAN — At around 8:46 p.m., Friday, deputies observed a vehicle driving erratically and driving into oncoming traffic on Route 430. The vehicle was observed to almost go off the pavement on the opposite side of the road. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Jeffrey A. Greiner, 39, from the Town of Sherman. Through investigation Greiner was found to be driving while intoxicated. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Amanda D. Ferguson, 42, of Jamestown was charged Feb. 2 with petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to police, at about 11:24 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting in progress at CVS, located at 19 S. Main St. It was determined that Ferguson allegedly had stolen merchandise belonging to the store. Officers located Ferguson a short distance from the store and were able to retrieve the items. One of the items, police said, had been damaged and was not available for resale. Ferguson was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown ...

Bus involved in minor mishap Emergency crews responded to an accident involving a vehicle and school bus. According to scanner reports, the incident happened in the town of Pomfret on Route 20 east of the roundabout with seven students aboard. Upon arrival all, including the students, were reported to be OK at the time. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Fredonia Fire Department was one of the responders. Route 60 Accident In Gerry Claims Life

GERRY — A 66-year-old woman has died in a motor vehicle collision on Sunday night. Early Monday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department reported that at around 6:18 p.m., they and multiple other agencies responded to the two-vehicle accident with serious injuries on Route 60. Upon arrival and through an investigation at the scene, it was determined that a vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lane of Route 60.
