Daily Alternate Parking Begins

In City

Daily alternate parking has begun in the city of Jamestown. Residents with vehicles are reminded to only park on the odd-numbered side of the street during odd-numbered days and only on the even-numbered side of the street during even-numbered days. Daily parking alternates at 10 a.m. each day.

Auxiliary Board Announces

Meetings

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the board room. The auxiliary will hold its Harvest Dinner and nomination of officers for 2024 at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share. Greeters for the evening will be Mary Alonge and Lyn Spencer. Helpers will be Sally Hagg and Nancy Rasmussen.

Westfield Village Board Schedules Special Meeting

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Village Board of Trustees will hold a brief public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. to call for and set the public hearing date to consider an application to the Office of Community Renewal for Community Development Block Grant funds for a private entity (5 & 20 Spirits and Brewing Inc.) to expand their operations in Westfield.

Human Rights Commission

To Meet

The Jamestown Human Rights Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the mayor’s conference room on the fourth floor of City Hall. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting will also be livestreamed at www.jamestownny.gov/live.

Harmony Senior Citizens Gather Thursday

PANAMA — Harmony Senior Citizens will meet at noon Thursday at Panama United Methodist Church for a tureen dinner. Members should bring a dish to pass and their own table service. Hosts for October include June Whipple, Ray Wood and Carol Hetrick. All area seniors are invited and encouraged to attend.

Boat Launch, Fishing Access Site To Be Closed For

Paving

The Prendergast Point Boat Launch and fishing access site on Chautauqua Lake will be closed several days during the first week of October for paving. Paving work is weather dependent, but is anticipated to occur around Thursday. The parking area will reopen upon completion of paving. Alternative options for fishing access sites are available on DEC’s website.

Saints And

Sinner Tours Scheduled

The Fenton History Center’s Saints and Sinner Tours will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, and Saturday, Oct. 14. There are still tickets available for Oct. 7 tours at 2:45, 3, 3:15 and 3:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, call the Fenton at 716-664-6256 or visit fentonhistorcenter.org. A few tickets also remain for Oct. 14 tours and the mausoleum tours on Oct. 15.
