City Planning Commission Gathers Today

The Jamestown Planning Commission will meet at 3:30 p.m. today in the Police Training Room on the fourth floor of Jamestown’s City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

The Chautauqua Lake Region Antique Automobile Club of America will have its monthly general meeting Wednesday at the War Vets Recreation Club in Fluvanna. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. Those attending do not have to own an antique auto to attend – anyone with an interest in classic cars is welcome.

Historical Society To Host Local Historian

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Town Historical Society’s next meeting will include a program by noted local historian Fletcher Ward on the topic of one of his recent books: “The Last Raft: Timbering Chautauqua’s Virgin Watershed.” The meeting will be on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Chautauqua Town Building, 2 Academy St., Mayville. All those interested in local history are invited to attend. The society operates the Mayville Depot museum, which is open in the summer. Thursday Concert Is This Thursday

The final Third Thursday concert of the season will take place Thursday in Winter Garden Plaza on Main Street, Jamestown, featuring the Tempus and Feverhawk. The concert is free.

The James Prendergast Library’s next Board of Trustees meeting will be held Thursday at 5:15 p.m. in the library’s Fireplace Room. Board meetings are open to the public.

Church To Hold Rummage Sale

FREWSBURG — Fentonville United Methodist Church, 109 Old Fentonville Road, Frewsburg, will hold a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Free ice cream sundaes will be served at 1 p. m. outside under the tent until the ice cream is gone. Music will be provided by the Harmony Gals Quartet. Donations will be accepted with appreciation. All donations will benefit local food pantries.

Photography Workshop

Scheduled For Sept. 30

LAKEWOOD — The Chautauqua County Camera Club will lead a photography workshop at the Lakewood Memorial Library on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The workshop will cover basic photographic concepts including composition, exposure triangle, depth of field, bokeh, etc. Participants will then explore techniques through hands-on practice. This workshop is appropriate for photographers of all experience levels. Participants can work with whatever type of camera they prefer, including cell phones, digital and film.
