Frewsburg School Board Schedules Special Meeting

FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will hold special meetings on Monday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, at 5:45 p.m. and Wednesday, May 20, at 5:45 p.m. at the The Chop House On Main, 2-6 E. Second St., Jamestown. The purpose of these meetings are to have an anticipated executive session to discuss matters pertaining to the search for a school superintendent. There will be no action taken after executive session

Hazeltine Library Author Series Continues

Monday

BUSTI – The spring author series at the Hazeltine Public Library will conclude on Monday, May 18, with poetry readings by Lana Keller. “I am so pleased to welcome Ms. Keller to our author series,” said Katie Smith, library director. “She writes beautiful, inspirational poetry – often about everyday life and experiences. It’s uplifting, sometimes touched with humor and quite relevant. Her writings could change the way you think about poetry.” The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road. There is off-street parking and the library is accessible. For more information call 716-487-1281.

Genealogical Society To Hear Speaker May 20

CASSADAGA — The Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will meet at the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 on Wednesday, May 20. The Business Meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. and the speaker at 7. Topic for the evening will be, “How to Use Funeral Home Records for Genealogical and Family Research.” David Dengler, Funeral Director for the Larson-Timko Funeral Home in Fredonia will be the presenter. Rabies Clinic Scheduled May 20 At CCHS

WESTFIELD – The Chautauqua County Health Department, in partnership with the Chautauqua County Humane Society, will host rabies vaccination clinics from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 30, and Saturday, June 20, at the Humane Society’s headquarters at 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown. Animals must be pre-registered to receive vaccinations. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats, and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. While supplies last, microchipping and distemper shots will also be available through the Chautauqua County Humane Society at no cost. Pre-registration is required and should be submitted online by visiting HealthyCHQ.com/Rabies and view the calendar for upcoming clinics. Pet owners must bring previous rabies vaccination records for each animal receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination; clinic staff will confirm previous rabies vaccination records. All dogs must be on a leash. All cats and ferrets must be in individual carriers. Animal handlers will transport animals to the veterinarian for vaccination.
