Kiantone Church To Host Prayer Service Sunday
KIANTONE – The Kiantone Congregational Church will be hosting a prayer service on Sunday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. The service will give people the opportunity to join in prayer for the nation as tens of thousands gather in Washington, D.C., led in part by Franklin Graham to rededicate the country to God on this historic day leading up to the 250th anniversary of America.
First Lutheran To Celebrate Church Music Sunday
First Lutheran Church will be celebrating Church Music Sunday, on May 17. The contemporary worship will be at 9 a.m. and the traditional service at 11 a.m. The Sacred Fire Praise Team will lead the 9 a.m. service with Kimberly King as the contemporary worship leader and coordinator. At the 11 a.m. service Brian A. Bogey, organist/choirmaster, will play Beautiful Savior arr. by David Johnson and Prelude and Fugue in C Major by J.S. Bach for the organ prelude. The organ postlude will be Toccata on O Filii Et Filiae by Lynwood Farnam. The Good News Ringers Hand Bell Choir will perform a Battle Hymn Tribute by John Behnke. The First Lutheran Choir’s offertory anthem will be When We Worship God Through Music by Eugene Butler. The liturgist for the 11 a.m. worship service will be Kimberly Larson; Gail Espinoza will be the lector, and Marika Koch will be the hymn cantor. Brenda Ecklund will be guest preacher at both worship services. The public is welcome to attend.
Golden Agers To Meet Tuesday
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. The speaker will be Mathea Rose, who will be discussing estate planning, wills and trusts. Throughout the coming months, many crafty members are knitting hats for children to distribute in the fall and would appreciate donations of yarn skeins. Any individual interested in membership with the Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers and has reached the age of 55 is welcome to attend a meeting.
Fairgrounds Open For Memorial Day Camping
PITTSFIELD, Pa. – The Warren County Fairgrounds in Pittsfield, Pa., will offer holiday camping Memorial Day weekend. Check in will start at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, with check out on Monday, May 25, by 2 p.m. There are several sites to choose from with water and electric hookups, restrooms with showers and a dumping station. For reservations or information call Sue at 814-730-2890. All proceeds will benefit the improvement fund for the fair.
Portion Of Niobe Road To Close For Bridge Replacement
HARMONY – County Route 12, Niobe Road, in Harmony, between Church Street and Cross Road, will be closed to all traffic effective Monday, May 18. The closure is due to replacement of County Bridge 830. A detour will be posted. This closure shall remain in effect until the replacement bridge is completed and said detour signs are removed.
Coffee & Cars Is Saturday At McCrea Point
The Chautauqua Lake Region Club of the Antique Automobile Club of America will be hosting its first Coffee & ; Cars of 2026, gathering at the gazebo at McCrea Point in Jamestown on Sunday, May 17, from 9 to 11 a.m., rain or shine. The public is invited to attend and talk with car enthusiasts, see some interesting vehicles and enjoy coffee, donuts and conversation. All car enthusiasts are welcome.
