Cookie Exchange Set For Dec. 15th

FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library will host a Christmas carol sing and cookie exchange at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. Lyrics to favorite Christmas carols will be available and those attending will sing by the library’s new fireplace. To take part in the cookie exchange, bring two or three dozen cookies and an empty container. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available.

United Senior Council Meets Thursday

The United Senior Council of Chautauqua County will meet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Celoron Community Building. After a short business meeting, the group will enjoy a Christmas buffet. Ham, meatballs and beverages will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring their own table service, a dish to pass and a serving spoon. All seniors in Chautauqua County are welcome to attend the meetings. The council will not meet in January 2023 or February 2023.

Psychic, Shopping, Event Saturday

LILY DALE — Lily Dale Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a Holiday Psychic and shopping lunch event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lily Dale Fire Hall. Lunch will be from noon to 1 p.m. for $7 and include a burger, hot dog or vegetarian burger with chips, chili, macaroni and cheese with desert and beverage. Vendors and holiday gifts will be available. In addition, there will be mini psychic readings that are $20 for 10 minutes.

AMVETS Dinner To Be Served Saturday

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726, with the support of the ILS Veterans Club, will be hosting a dinner on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 2 to 6 p.m. or until sold out, at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. The ladies will be serving a choice of two fresh-cooked dinners: chicken and biscuits or baked rigatoni with meat sauce, including dessert. The cost of the dinner is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under, but guests can eat free with the donation of a new toy of equal value or more, or socks and underwear for children or adults. The toys will be delivered to Toys for Tots, and the underwear will be distributed locally. The dinners may be eaten on site or take-outs are available.

Auxiliary Plans Christmas Meeting

SHERIDAN — The Auxiliary for the Sheridan VFW 6390 will hold its December meeting on Monday at the post located at 2556 Route 20. It will be an informal meeting, included in the Christmas party.

All members are invited. Any last-minute responses for the prime rib dinner must be arranged through Rene at the post. Dinner will be served at 6:30, following cocktails at 6:00. There is a Toys for Tots bin in the lobby of the post and the auxiliary is accepting donations from its members and the public until Friday.

School Board To Gather Monday

BEMUS POINT –The Bemus Point School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, in the cafeteria located at Maple Grove Middle-High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. The public is welcome to attend.
