Stockton Hosting Christmas Lights Contest

STOCKTON — The Stockton Planning Board is hosting a townwide community Christmas lighting contest, including the village of Cassadaga. There is no entry fee. Applications are available at the Stockton and Cassadaga libraries and the Stockton Town Clerk’s office. Return applications by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, enter by calling the Town Clerk’s office at 716-595-3192, ext. 1, email willsm@netsync.net, drop applications off at the Stockton Town Hall or the Stockton or Cassadaga Library building, or in the book drop-off. Contest judging will take place at 6 p.m. on or after Dec. 20.

IDA Board To Meet Dec. 21

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, in a meeting that will be streamed live on Youtube. The public may view the meeting by visiting Youtube and searching “County of Chautauqua IDA.” Once on the webpage, viewers can click on “videos” to watch the meeting.

JCC Board To Meet Tuesday

The next meeting of the Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. via videoconference between the boardrooms on the Jamestown Campus, Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean and the North County Extension Center in Dunkirk as well as via Zoom technology. Due to COVID concerns, attendees must register with Marsha Hern at 716-338-1060 or marshahern@mail.sunyjcc.edu to attend the meeting in person. Those wishing to attend via Zoom may do so by registering at www.sunyjcc.edu/events.

Prendergast Board To Meet Dec. 16

The James Prendergast Library’s board meeting will be held online at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 16. All library board meetings are open to the public. To access the online board meeting, email reference@prendergastlibrary.org.

Sewer District Board To Meet Later This Month

The administrative board of the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the water pollution control facility. Those interested in joining the meeting by video conference can call 646-558-8656 with the meeting ID 999-449-0210.

Candidates

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Republican Committee is seeking a candidate for Westfield village trusteefor the upcoming election. The Westfield Republican Committee will be holding a caucus in January to nominate a candidate to appear on the Republican line of the ballot for the March 15 Westfield village election. Those interested in serving can leave a private message on the Westfield Republican Committees Facebook page and a member of the committee will contact the potential candidate or call 716-326-6550 and leave a message. Candidates must be a resident of the village of Westfield to serve on the Village Board.
