CVCS Board To Meet Monday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will hold a finance workshop meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday in the middle-high school multipurpose room. The meeting will be followed by a regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m.

8 New COVID Cases In County

Eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Chautauqua County Department of Health for information collected Wednesday. Of those cases, four came from Jamestown and one each in Fredonia, Silver Creek, Frewsburg and Ripley. The health department also announced there were 39 active cases, two people with the virus in the hospital and 158 people in quarantine. To date there have been 9,378 total confirmed cases, 9,181 total recoveries and 158 virus-related deaths.

Carroll Board To Meet Aug. 11

FREWSBURG — Members of the Carroll Town Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11. A public hearing also will be held. The meeting will take place at the Frewsburg Fire Station No. 2, 25 Hazzard St., Frewsburg, and is open to the public. The Carroll Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the town hall, 5 W. Main St., Frewsburg.

CWC To Hold Aug. 11 Meeting

The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will hold its 2021 annual meeting at the Harbor Hotel in Celoron on Wednesday, Aug. 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. This year’s featured speaker will be Vincent Cotrone, Urban Forester at Penn State Cooperative Extension, who will be presenting “The Role of Trees and Forests for Healthy Lakes and Streams.” In addition to the presentation, attendees will also learn about current and upcoming CWC conservation programs and activities and participate in CWC’s annual election of board directors. This year’s new and renewing nominees are Michael Jabot, Bill Locke, Craig Seger, Deborah Trefts and William Ward. The cost of attendance is $35 per person, which includes refreshments, heavy hors d’oeuvres and one drink ticket to the bar during the outdoor welcome reception from 5 to 6 p.m. and entrance to the meeting, which will begin at 6. There will also be a cash bar on site. Reservations are required. Antique Show Is Aug. 14-15

WESTFIELD — The annual Westfield Antique Show, sponsored by the Chautauqua County Historical Society, is returning to the village Aug. 14-15. After being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual antique show returns with a wide variety of items available for sale. The show will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield. The event will feature antique furniture, dining sets, glassware, silver, jewelry and much more. More than 20 different dealers will be in attendance. Admission is $5 for both days. Free parking is available in the municipal lot on Elm St., within half a block of Eason Hall.
