Soil, Water Board To Meet Wed. In Bemus Point

The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District board will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bemus Point United Methodist Church, 4954 Bemus-Ellery Road, Bemus Point. For reservations call 664-2351, ext. 102, or email Chaut-Co@soilwater.org so attendance numbers can be recorded and so those attending can be provided with COVID-19 safety protocol meeting guidelines, the room location and parking instructions.

BPU Board To Meet July 26

Members of the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, July 26, in the board room of the operations center building, second floor, 92 Steele St., Jamestown. Members of the public who attend the meeting should enter the visitor door and will be required to complete a screening form prior to being admitted to the meeting.

Historical Society To Hear Author

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society will be hosting former Frewsburg graduate and author Jeff Crawford at 6 p.m. Monday, July 26, at its facility located at 5 W. Main St., Frewsburg, behind the town hall. Crawford is a 1963 graduate of Frewsburg and retired pastor. He has written two books pertaining to his life as a pastor and growing up in Frewsburg. He will be talking about his upcoming book alled “Chasing Golf.” He will be available after the program for a book signing. All money in the book selling will go toward the Carroll Historical Society. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Outdoor Club To Kayak Sunday

Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak Sunday on the Allegheny Reservoir near Redbridge campground. The group will meet at Musante Street at 1:30 p.m. or Bobs Trading Post at 2:15 p.m. Peter To is the leader and can be reached for any questions at (814) 730-4881.

Sinclairville Group To Hold Picnic Aug. 3

SINCLAIRVILLE — The August meeting of the Valley Historical Society will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, in the Sinclairville ballpark pavillion. This is the group’s annual picnic meeting, and all those attending should bring a dish of food to pass and their own drink and table setting. Members will eat at 6 p.m. sharp. The program for the evening is Treasure Trove. Anyone interested in local history is welcome to attend.

JHS Class Of 1968 To Host Birthday Party

On Saturday, Sept. 19, the Jamestown High School Class of 1968 will host its 70th (+1) Birthday Celebration at the Den Adelsman’s Klub starting at noon. The cost is $10 per person for a hot dog and hamburg cookout. Those attending are asked to bring their own beverages. Those attending are free to bring snacks to share or a dish to pass.
