Playground Build Day Is Set
The Lillian Dickson community playgound build day in the city of Jamestown will be held Saturday, July 17.

Program To Be Held July 8
The next Small Business Development Center Women In Networking program will take place Thursday, July 8, at noon. The presentation will focus on “Best Practices for Starting and Growing Your Business.” The speaker is Frank Besse, the urban core director of the Jamestown Renaissance Corp. and owner of several small businesses. He will speak about his entrepreneurial spirit to community and economic development, and his passion for small businesses. While the event usually takes place in person, during the COVID-19 pandemic, women are meeting via zoom to exchange ideas, experiences and address challenging issues. Each person briefly shares their latest business news and then participates in a learning opportunity with a presentation on a topic of interest. The SBDC has helped to build productive business relationships that benefit women throughout the region with this program. Golden Agers To Meet July 20
LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, at the Lakewood American Legion with a representative from Hospice as the speaker. A barbecue chicken dinner will be held at the group’s Aug. 17 meeting, taking place at 12:30 p.m. Reservations and payment should be made by the July 20 meeting. The Legion staff will preparing and serving the dinner.
School Board To Meet July 7
RIPLEY — A reorganizational meeting of the Ripley Central School Board followed immediately by a regular board meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, in the cafeteria of the Ripley Central School.
Library Board To Meet Thursday
LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library Board of Trustees will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the library, 12 W. Summit St., Lakewood. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
Grangers Will Meet July 12
Ross Grange will host the County Pomona meeting at the Falcon’s Nest on Monday, July 12. A picnic lunch will be served at noon. Hot dogs, beverages and table service will be proided. Those attending should bring picnic type food to share. The busines meeting will follow at 1 p.m.
Woman’s Day Event Is July 15
The Marvin Community House will be the setting for a presentation by the Lily Dale Woman’s Day Event Committee. The July 15 lunch followed by the special program begins at noon. Contact the Marvin House for reservations at 488-6206 or marvinhouse@netsync.net. The cost is $17 for members of the Marvin House and $20 for non-members. The speakers, Pastor Celeste Elliott and Joanne Mansfield, will explain how women’s rights and spiritualism came together in the little town that is Lily Dale.
