School Board Sets Meeting

SALAMANCA — The Salamanca City Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. today to discuss the school board retreat that took place June 18. The special meeting will be held in the large group instruction room at 50 Iroquois Drive.

Blood Drive To Be Held Thurs.

The Community Blood Bank is still battling some of the deficits caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in addition to the normal obstacles the summer months bring. A blood drive will be held from 1-5 p.m. Thursday at UPMC Chautauqua, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. To schedule an appointment, call 450-0376. Appointments are strongly encouraged.

BPU To Hold June 28 Meeting

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, June 28, in the board room of the operations center building, second floor, 92 Steele St., Jamestown. Due to New York state guidelines, members of the public who want to attend the meeting must email sjlake@jamestownbpu.com or call 661-1685 by 10 a.m. Monday to reserve a seat as space is limited. As New York state guidelines continue to change, the BPU will follow all rules and put proper protections in place. Members of the public who register to attend the meeting will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening form prior to being admitted to the meeting.

Mayville Seniors To Meet July 15

MAYVILLE — The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet July 15 at noon at the Mayville VFW. Do not bring a dish to pass; lunch will be provided at a cost of $3. Wear a mask if not vaccinated.

Marvin House Offers Take-Out

The Marvin House in Jamestown is offering take-out meals Thursday between 3-4 p.m. that will include chicken salad with a croissant, homemade potato salad, broccoli salad and Texas sheet cake. Meals will be available between 3-4 p.m. Reservations can be made by sending an email to marvinhouse@netsync.net or calling 488-6206. The cost is $17 for members and $20 for non-members.

Guided Nature Walks Are Set

The Audubon Community Nature Center’s next guided Saturday morning Nature Walks are June 26 and July 3. The June 26 walk is from 9 to 10 a.m. while the July 3 walk is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m, as will be the ones in August and September. Those attending should dress for the weather. Face coverings are required for both vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals for indoor and outdoor Audubon programs. While the event is free, donations are appreciated. Participation is limited to 15. Reservations are requested by the Thursday before each walk. To reserve a space, call the Nature Center during open hours at 569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org and click through “Upcoming Programs.” Walk-ins will be accepted if there is room.

Church Resumes Sunday Services

WESTFIELD — St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 12 Elm St., Westfield, has resumed in-person services. Sunday services are held at 10 a.m. with shared celebrants from Holy Cross Episcopal Church of North East Pa.
