Prevention Works Offers Training

PAX Community Tools training will be held from 5-8 p.m. June 30 by Prevention Works. PAX Community Tools is a collection of evidence-based, trauma-informed strategies to improve cooperation and self-regulation with youth. PAX Tools draws on decades of science to create strategies that support parents, youth workers and other adults to help children. Training is held via Zoom and is open to all parents, caregivers, and youth workers. To register, contact Prevention Works at 664-3608 or email info@preventionworks.us. In addition, training updates will also be posted on the Prevention Works’ Facebook page and website. The link to the Zoom training will be provided once participants have registered.

Leon Historical Hosting Event

LEON — On Saturday, June 26, at 2 p.m. in Leon’s historic 1836 Church, Route 62, Leon, the Leon Historical Society invites the public to a presentation on Joseph Ellicott. Anyone living in Western New York has connection to Ellicott, because it was him — at the beginning of the 1800s as Holland Land Company’s principal surveyor and resident land agent for all the land west of the Genesse River — who transformed the area into vibrant communities and bustling commercial centers. Antique Assn. Hosting Pull

STOCKTON — The Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will hold its spring pull Saturday at the club grounds, 4578 Cemetery Road, Stockton. Garden tractors begin at 10 a.m. and farm tractors begin at noon. New this year is a flea market on the grounds beginning at 8 a.m. Parking and admission are free.

AOC To Kayak At McCrea Point

Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak on Chautauqua Lake on Sunday at McCrea Point. The group will meet at Musante Street, Warren, at 1:30 p.m. or at McCrea Point, Jones and Gifford Avenue in Jamestown at 2:15 p.m. Anyone with questions is asked to call Linda Ross at (814) 688-5908.

Ripley Board To Meet Wednesday

RIPLEY — Members of the Ripley Central School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the school cafeteria.
