School Board To Meet Monday

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point School Board will meet Monday at Maple Grove High School on Dutch Hollow Road. A public hearing on the code of conduct will take place from 5:30-6 p.m. The regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend, though there will be a limit of 50 people with social distancing requirements. Face masks will also be required. Those attending are asked to enter through the gym. The meeting will also be streamed live online.

Committee Will Not Meet

The Chautauqua County Legislature’s Public Facilities Committee scheduled for Monday has been canceled due to a lack of agenda items.

Blood Drive Set For Wednesday

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sugar Grove Fire Department, 5 Wilson St., Sugar Grove. To donate, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age or 16 with parental consent, where allowed by state law, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Reed To Hold Office Hours

DUNKIRK — A member of U.S. Rep. Tom Reed’s staff will be available at Dunkirk City Hall from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16. Staff will be available to answer questions, gather feedback, and provide assistance with immigration, Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and other issues related to federal agencies. Those unable to attend are encouraged to contact any of Reed’s offices, including the Jamestown office at 708-6369.

Cemetery Group To Convene

SINCLAIRVILLE — The annual lot owners’ meeting of the Sinclairville Evergreen Cemetery Association will be held on Monday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Sinclairville Fire Hall. Two trustees will be determined.

Quilters’ Guild To Meet Sept. 17

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters’ Guild will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Westfield YWCA. Those attending will vote on proposed bylaw changes. Members are also asked to bring show and tell items to celebrate National Sewing Month, which is held in September.

Ethics Board To Meet Sept. 21

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will meet at 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, in rooms 331 and 333 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St. in Mayville. Current members of the board are Susan Dilks, John Lloyd, David Rowe, Rose Sebouhian and Mary Kay Szwejbka. Individuals attending the meeting must wear a face covering, adhere to social distancing measures and will be screened for the symptoms of COVID-19 prior to entering the building.
