JCC Committee

To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Community College Educational Services Committee will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Hamilton Collegiate Center boardroom on the Jamestown campus with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Cattaraugus County Campus and North County Extension Center. The public is welcome to attend.

UPMC To Host Free Workshop

UPMC Chautauqua will offer a 16-week free workshop series that helps individuals adopt lifestyle changes for healthy eating and physical activity to help prevent type 2 diabetes. Two informational sessions to learn more about the program will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at UPMC Chautauqua. Individuals may be at risk for diabetes if they: had a baby weighing more than 9 pounds at birth or had gestational diabetes during past pregnancy; have a sister, brother or parent with diabetes; are overweight; get little to no exercise in a typical day; and are 45 years of age or older. To register for the 16-week workshop, contact the UPMC Chautauqua nutrition services office at 664-8434 or attend one of the two meetings Monday.

Ripley Church Breakfast Is Jan. 12

RIPLEY — The Ripley United Methodist Church is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $7. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Ripley Library.

County’s Lake Agency To Meet

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Lake Protection And Rehabilitation Agency will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. The public is welcome to attend.

Midway State Park Manager To Speak

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Historical Society guest speaker series continues on Wednesday, as Marla Connelly, park manager for all of the New York State Parks in Chautauqua County, stops by to review the season that was at Midway State Park and provides updates on what is planned for the 2019 season. The event is free and open to the public beginning at 7 p.m. at the Bemus Point Historical Society Museum on Alburtus Avenue in Bemus Point. Quilt Guild Meeting Is Wednesday

BUSTI — The Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will meet at the Busti Fire Hall on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. The program will focus on favorite tools. Refreshments will be served and guests are welcome to attend.

SWCS Board Of Education To Meet

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the board room. The public is welcome to attend. A dinner meeting and discussion of the district’s goals and objectives will follow the regular meeting.
